Sistema unit, Niarmedik sign deal to produce COVID-19 tests

MOSCOW, Apr 9 (PRIME) -- Sistema-BioTech, a unit of Russian multi-industry holding Sistema, has signed an agreement with pharmaceutical holding Niarmedik to launch production of equipment for diagnosis of COVID-19, the company said in a statement late on Wednesday.

"A high-precision system developed by biotech company Sistema-BioTech based on local research and chemicals includes all things needed to diagnose (the disease) in any clinical laboratory equipped with the standard tools for the polymerase chain reaction method," the statement read.

The testing time is one hour. Sistema-BioTech has already transferred the production technology to Niarmedik. The companies are waiting for registration, which can be obtained in Sunday, to start mass production.
